Invest India is India's national investment promotion agency under the Central Government, comparable to a U.S. federal economic development authority. My work spanned executive communications, stakeholder engagement, content strategy, public affairs, internal communications, and program management for national and state level investment promotion.

What the work produced:

• Served as the primary communications liaison for the Government of Meghalaya on investment promotion, public private partnerships, and public affairs at national scale.
• Led investor relations and engagement communications across lead capture, partner onboarding, email marketing, cold outreach, targeted campaigns, investor presentations, and feasibility studies, supporting $276M in signed investment intent agreements.
• Built and managed a 500+ member stakeholder network of domestic and global investors, CSR leaders, business leaders, and government officials to support investor facilitation and large scale events, including the Northeast Investors Summit 2024.
• Managed internal communications and program reporting for 80+ employees across 9 sector teams, including weekly OKR updates, monthly milestone reports, quarterly leadership reports, meeting facilitation, note taking, and accountability tracking.
• Partnered with subject matter experts and technical teams to translate complex sector, policy, and investment topics into clear, business aligned messaging across investor, government, leadership, and internal channels.
• Applied generative AI tools, including ChatGPT and Gemini, to accelerate research synthesis, benchmarking, and content optimization, reducing production timelines by 40%.
• Produced a library of 30+ communications assets, including sectoral booklets, state profiles, and a compendium of investable projects for investor roundtables, seminars, and webinars.
• Created 15+ executive communications packages for program launches, partnership announcements, public appearances, press conferences, and speaker engagements, including talking points, briefing documents, speeches, keynote presentations, speaker notes, press releases, media bytes, and executive preparation materials.
• Planned and executed 10+ national events, including investor summits, roadshows, conferences, and roundtables.

The documents below include sector profiles, booklets, annual reports, and a project compendium covering the Meghalaya and Northeast India portfolio. I was responsible for the Meghalaya sections across these materials, including content, writing, and design layout.

Short-form videos, founder stories, and the PRIME annual report, all produced as part of the communications programme built for PRIME Entrepreneurship Meghalaya.

The videos were led from script development through filming, editing, and publishing, covering founder spotlights, programme announcements, and campaign content to build programme awareness and audience reach.

Leaders and speakers appearing in these productions were prepared through executive readiness sessions covering messaging, talking points, and on-camera delivery.

The annual report captured the programme's year in outcomes, reach, and milestones for government and partner audiences.

Outcomes from this work:

• 1,800 programme applications generated through a multi-channel campaign across social, digital, and direct outreach for the Chief Minister's E-Championship Challenge 2021
• 575% social media audience growth on Facebook and Instagram within weeks of launching the communications programme
• 150,000 views on the PRIME Entrepreneurship Funding video across Facebook
• Earned media placements across 10 or more outlets including India Today NE and All India Radio
• 25 or more entrepreneur impact stories produced and distributed across digital and print channels
• 5 or more public awareness sessions delivered as organisational spokesperson, reaching 500 or more community members across the region

Two public-facing platforms owned from strategy to launch, covering information architecture, content strategy, web copy, and editorial coordination.

The first is a national investment facilitation portal built for the Government of Meghalaya through Invest India, connecting investors, government stakeholders, and business leaders across sectors.

The second is a knowledge hub and digital portal for PRIME Meghalaya, giving over 50 small businesses and early-stage entrepreneurs structured access to incubation support, funding pathways, market resources, and programme content across the state.

Directed content architecture, CMS publishing, and editorial coordination for the official PRIME Meghalaya portal. The site covers the full programme structure including the Chief Minister's E-Championship Challenge and its 9-month incubation track, four dedicated funding pathways for startup and nano enterprises, PRIME Hub locations in Shillong and Tura, mentorship and market access resources, and an entrepreneur portal for applications and grievance redressal. Serves over 50 small businesses and entrepreneurs across the state.

• The department earned the Best Performer Award in the national Startup India States Rankings in 2021 and Top Performer recognition in 2022.

Led content strategy and information architecture for a public-facing investment portal built for the Government of Meghalaya through Invest India. Directed web copy, content layout, design direction, and content QA. Conducted 70 or more user surveys and field interviews to translate stakeholder feedback into improvements across site structure, content, and user experience, growing the portal to over 1,900 visitors during its beta release.

• Managed external agency coordination and served as a primary point of contact across cross-functional technical teams throughout the build.

Graduate work from Northeastern University in Silicon Valley, completed as part of an MS in Project Management with a 3.91 GPA and the CPS Leaders and Scholars Award. Served as team lead or project manager in 8 out of 9 group projects across the programme.

Research papers cover BrightSource's Concentrated Solar Power Plant, the Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System, and quality analysis at Gainsborough Manufacturing.

Two consulting engagements with real US-based clients. The first, for Tayla Andre's Non-Real-Estate Services in Massachusetts, delivered a complete CRM operating model on the BoldTrail platform, covering service architecture, shared data model and tag taxonomy, three automated campaign tracks, a 9-step pipeline, KPI framework, governance and audit process, risk register, and a phased implementation plan with acceptance testing.

The second, the capstone for Kathy Varela Creative, delivered a 12-month Social Media Marketing Plan encompassing a Business Model Canvas, six-competitor market analysis, revised service packages, and a full social media strategy, run with full PM discipline from kickoff to close. Both projects were led as Project Manager. Both earned immediate client approval. The capstone was delivered eight days ahead of schedule with 100% scope completion.

I drafted press releases, built press materials, and pitched journalists directly to secure earned media across local, regional, and national outlets, including The Times of India, India Today NE, News Live TV, All India Radio, Shillong Times, Highland Post, and Syllad. For the PRIME Meghalaya entrepreneurship programme, I handled media relations across key programme moments. Coverage included the PRIME Entrepreneurship Awards, where Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma announced an INR 125 crore corpus fund for Meghalaya entrepreneurs, and the E-Championship Conclave, where the Chief Minister shared his entrepreneurship experience and announced programme milestones. I also secured feature coverage on programme-supported entrepreneurs, including Hills Products, a maker of biodegradable areca leaf dinnerware, and D Sten Food Processing, a pickle business that grew through the programme and expanded sales beyond Meghalaya through the North East Store e-commerce platform.

For the North East Global Investors Summit: Meghalaya State Roundtable, I managed media relations for an event that brought together state and central government, the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, and investors across focus sectors including tourism, agriculture and food processing, health, education, IT, and handicrafts. I distributed press briefings and media materials during and after the roundtable, supporting earned coverage in regional and national press.

Published a peer-reviewed review article on Generalized Anxiety Disorder in the Journal of Science, Engineering, Health and Management, grounded in undergraduate work in Psychology at the University of Calcutta, and presented the same research at a seminar organized by Techno India University in Kolkata. The ability to synthesize dense information, build a structured argument, and write for a critical audience is something that started here and carried forward into every communications role since.
